She was a chubby kid, the last to be picked for gym class, and the last one to finish running. She hated running. Her life changed when her Mom died, and she was only 13. She continued to gain weight afterwards, comforting herself through her heartbreaking loss.
She eventually started doing the gym thing after University, losing about 40lbs. She wouldn't say she loved exercise at that point, but things changed once she had her daughter Macie. She gained 51 pounds in her pregnancy, and was completely overwhelmed with Motherhood. Not having a Mom to turn to for advice, she joined a Mom and baby stroller run group to find others she could share the struggles with. That changed her life. Running gave her freedom to still maintain her identity as Christine, and she ran away from the overwhelm of being a new Mom. Shortly thereafter, she had 2 devastating losses: her brother to suicide, and her Dad to stroke complications. She initially ran to run away from the grief, but soon realized how running made her so happy. She would come home from a run, and feel energized and have more patience, making her a better Mom and Wife!
She decided that she wanted to help others realize that they could not just survive after grief and loss, but that they could actually THRIVE. And that it's actually ok to have a great life, and not feel guilty about it. Realizing that life is truly too short, she wanted to help others live life to its fullest. She became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2011, and the rest is history. She has not only helped thousands of people get fit, but it's the way how she does it: her love for life is infectious, and she will be your biggest cheerleader. Life can be tough, and she has had her share of challenges, but her positivity and encouragement will empower you to be the best you can be, for YOU.

Who I am: I am a wife and mom of 2. An athlete, and an example. I am a work in progress. During the process of losing 80lbs, I fell in love with fitness; not only for what it can do for my body, but what it can do for my mind and my soul. I am passionate about learning. I am passionate about creating community. I am a seeker. I am a women’s health advocate. I consider it a privilege to share the studio with you and be a part of your own unique journey. I believe we are capable of more than we realize. I believe in change. I believe it is never too late to try or to start. I believe in the power of getting outside of comfort zones. I believe it is the journey, not the destination, that will shape us and I believe we all deserve to live a life that we love.
What I love: My kids, working with and empowering women, hiking, good music, challenging work outs, self-improvement, sleeping in, a good book, the underdog, creative minds, perseverance, being near or on the water, Christmas time, authenticity, heart felt conversation, yoga, rainy days, strong coffee and courageous vulnerability.

That is when I found Thrive, a place that not only motivated me, but reminded me why fitness is so important, not only to heal the body, but mentally as well. Throughout my time at Thrive I went from doing push ups off the wall to riding from Surrey to Hope in the Ride to Conquer Cancer with Thrive’s owner and personal friend, Christine Hall - one of my proudest accomplishments to date.
After being a client from almost day one, I decided to go back to school for Personal Training to learn how to help people the way that Thrive has helped me. Since then, I have been certified as a Personal Trainer, Certified in TRX and am currently continuing my education to become a Human Movement Specialist.

I'm a curious person and my life is quite varied as a result. I've been the primary caregiver for my three kickass daughters (while 14, 11, and 9), and have balanced my fitness clients while also pursuing a passion for storytelling. I've been a paid screenwriter, developing feature and TV projects, and even directed the winter survival thriller, Numb (2015), which you can currently watch on Prime. (Dress warmly to watch. You've been warned.)
I enjoy CrossFit, Hockey and Windsurfing, when I'm not going for walks with my lovely wife, Christie.

My true passion for the fitness industry really started as a desire to try to lose the 50lbs of baby weight I gained from 3 pregnancies. It was hard to find the time to exercise, life was hectic with 3 children under the age of 3. I started with making the decision of joining a running club with my friend in a learn-to-run program, I remember I couldn't run for 1 min straight. Then, I joined all different types of group classes; being so active and setting fitness goals for myself changed my life, adopting a different approach and mindset can do amazing things for you. I became an Olympic distance Triathlete, a Half Marathon runner and a CrossFit athlete.
I chose to become a Personal Trainer because I would love to make a difference in people's lives by sharing my passion, empowering, guiding and challenging them to reach their goals and potentials along their own fitness journey because fitness really is a personal journey.
I have taught mobility and HIIT classes in the past and I am super excited to be part of the Thrive community!
