Christine Hall

Christine loves, loves what she does. She considers herself VERY lucky to be able to help and inspire people to be their absolute best.

She was a chubby kid, the last to be picked for gym class, and the last one to finish running. She hated running. Her life changed when her Mom died, and she was only 13. She continued to gain weight afterwards, comforting herself through her heartbreaking loss.

She eventually started doing the gym thing after University, losing about 40lbs. She wouldn't say she loved exercise at that point, but things changed once she had her daughter Macie. She gained 51 pounds in her pregnancy, and was completely overwhelmed with Motherhood. Not having a Mom to turn to for advice, she joined a Mom and baby stroller run group to find others she could share the struggles with. That changed her life. Running gave her freedom to still maintain her identity as Christine, and she ran away from the overwhelm of being a new Mom. Shortly thereafter, she had 2 devastating losses: her brother to suicide, and her Dad to stroke complications. She initially ran to run away from the grief, but soon realized how running made her so happy. She would come home from a run, and feel energized and have more patience, making her a better Mom and Wife!

She decided that she wanted to help others realize that they could not just survive after grief and loss, but that they could actually THRIVE. And that it's actually ok to have a great life, and not feel guilty about it. Realizing that life is truly too short, she wanted to help others live life to its fullest. She became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2011, and the rest is history. She has not only helped thousands of people get fit, but it's the way how she does it: her love for life is infectious, and she will be your biggest cheerleader. Life can be tough, and she has had her share of challenges, but her positivity and encouragement will empower you to be the best you can be, for YOU.

What I do: As a RYT 200 with a BA in Psychology and a Pre/Postnatal Fitness Specialist with certifications in PT, group fitness, yoga, aquafit and indoor cycling, I bring a dynamic and versatile skill set to my classes. You can expect a lot of hustle, and a lot of heart. You can expect me to know your name and care about your goals. You can expect a genuine experience every time.

Who I am: I am a wife and mom of 2. An athlete, and an example. I am a work in progress. During the process of losing 80lbs, I fell in love with fitness; not only for what it can do for my body, but what it can do for my mind and my soul. I am passionate about learning. I am passionate about creating community. I am a seeker. I am a women’s health advocate. I consider it a privilege to share the studio with you and be a part of your own unique journey. I believe we are capable of more than we realize. I believe in change. I believe it is never too late to try or to start. I believe in the power of getting outside of comfort zones. I believe it is the journey, not the destination, that will shape us and I believe we all deserve to live a life that we love.

What I love: My kids, working with and empowering women, hiking, good music, challenging work outs, self-improvement, sleeping in, a good book, the underdog, creative minds, perseverance, being near or on the water, Christmas time, authenticity, heart felt conversation, yoga, rainy days, strong coffee and courageous vulnerability.

I have been very lucky to have worked in the fitness industry for many years. I have taught many, many classes and worked with all sorts of people of various ages and skill levels. I grew up in this very community, moved away to go to school and live life and now I am back raising my 2 kids in the very same house I grew up in. I am so excited to be back!! I have so many great memories of growing up in White Rock, I can only hope to create those same feelings for my kids. I believe in the power of fitness and feeling good. There is nothing like a good workout in a positive environment to turn your day around. We live in a world where things move fast and we are responsible for way too many things. I believe that one of the most important responsibilities is to care for yourself through having fun, exercising and eating healthy.

I fell in love with fitness and sports from a young age. As a kid I had to play and be on all the sport teams! I excelled in competitive swimming and worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor in high school. While studying sport sciences, and nutrition at Douglas College I managed two She’s Fit-Club 16 Trevor Linden fitness clubs, where I decided I needed to certify myself as the ultimate personal trainer! I started training independently and ran outdoor boot camps at local parks and recreations in Port Moody, BC. My husband and I decided to move to Langley and that’s when I found Christine and Thrive!! I have been personal training for the past 10 years living the dream! I love creating fun and new workouts for my clients! I guarantee I will get you to reach and maintain your health and fitness goals!

Growing up right here on the peninsula, I was active in most sports in town. This lead me to pursue a Human Kinetics degree from UBC and subsequently begin my practice as a athletic performance coach. To expand my toolkit, I also pursued various designations which lead me to work as a kinesiologist and in a cardiac rehab setting, while coaching various group exercise classes along the way. I’ve always been interested in developing my own physical strength and I am passionate about helping others discover theirs as well. From personal experience, I am a huge proponent for the mental health benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle as every time we get the blood pumping we keep our brains happy as well! In addition to weight training, I like to stay active playing baseball, tennis and hitting the ice on occasion. I am so fortunate to be back in my hometown helping to create a happy, healthy community!

I got into personal training after seeing what a difference it made to my life. The million-dollar feeling I get after a challenging work out, the sweat, laughs, and genuine care I received from my personal trainer helped me become a better person. My journey started five years ago, at a much heavier physical and mental state. At the beginning, it was difficult to even get to the gym. Though slowly over time things started to click, where I looked forward to my next workout and couldn’t wait get that feeling of accomplishment and burst of happiness in my brain! Along with the help from my personal trainer, I trained myself to not only be physically stronger and over 55 pounds lighter, but mentally stronger as well. It was then that I had decided that I wanted to provide the same opportunities and gifts that I was given. Today, I am constantly educating myself to be the best trainer and promoter of a healthy lifestyle and, simply, making you feel great inside and out! Personally, I am getting married in 2018, currently residing in White Rock, and living life to the fullest!

I have always been very active from a young age. I danced from age 3 to 18 including teaching dance as my first job, I played rugby throughout high school and have enjoyed hiking and running due to my love of the outdoors. After I had my first child, I was diagnosed with diastasis recti (abdominal separation) and I had a long road to recovery and found it very hard to find motivation so my love for fitness was set aside.

That is when I found Thrive, a place that not only motivated me, but reminded me why fitness is so important, not only to heal the body, but mentally as well. Throughout my time at Thrive I went from doing push ups off the wall to riding from Surrey to Hope in the Ride to Conquer Cancer with Thrive’s owner and personal friend, Christine Hall - one of my proudest accomplishments to date.

After being a client from almost day one, I decided to go back to school for Personal Training to learn how to help people the way that Thrive has helped me. Since then, I have been certified as a Personal Trainer, Certified in TRX and am currently continuing my education to become a Human Movement Specialist.

Marie Enns

As a busy mom of three young boys I depend on working out to keep me strong physically, mentally and emotionally. I grew up in the South Surrey/White Rock area and am so happy to be back living and working in this close-knit community. I have played community and school sports all my life. I love the bond created from working together as a team and is the same reason I was drawn to the world of fitness and personal training. My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment that makes people of all fitness levels feel comfortable to show up and work hard. I enjoy challenging myself and love the feeling of accomplishment after completing a workout. As a new mom, I learned quickly that if I did not take care of my mental and emotional health, I would not be able to handle the ups and downs of everyday life. Working out provides me with emotional and mental clarity. I am passionate about supporting other women and helping them realize their own confidence and strength. I love leaving people feeling energized after a workout and able to tackle their day.

I was raised in White Rock and went to the prairies to play study and volleyball at the University of Calgary in the 90s. I've been a fitness professional for over 20 years and am a practicing member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists. I started out training college athletes, but found that I enjoyed helping everyday people learn to be the athletes of their life, creating a safe, fun environment to exercise and grow. I know what it's like to struggle through injuries, physical limitations and mental blocks, and I do what I can to help my clients work through those obstacles.

I'm a curious person and my life is quite varied as a result. I've been the primary caregiver for my three kickass daughters (while 14, 11, and 9), and have balanced my fitness clients while also pursuing a passion for storytelling. I've been a paid screenwriter, developing feature and TV projects, and even directed the winter survival thriller, Numb (2015), which you can currently watch on Prime. (Dress warmly to watch. You've been warned.)

I enjoy CrossFit, Hockey and Windsurfing, when I'm not going for walks with my lovely wife, Christie.

I was born and raised in Mexico where I played basketball in university. I’m a wife and mother of 3 healthy and active children who are very much involved in team sports. I'm an animal lover, a travel enthusiast and really enjoy spending family time outdoors in beautiful BC.

My true passion for the fitness industry really started as a desire to try to lose the 50lbs of baby weight I gained from 3 pregnancies. It was hard to find the time to exercise, life was hectic with 3 children under the age of 3. I started with making the decision of joining a running club with my friend in a learn-to-run program, I remember I couldn't run for 1 min straight. Then, I joined all different types of group classes; being so active and setting fitness goals for myself changed my life, adopting a different approach and mindset can do amazing things for you. I became an Olympic distance Triathlete, a Half Marathon runner and a CrossFit athlete.

I chose to become a Personal Trainer because I would love to make a difference in people's lives by sharing my passion, empowering, guiding and challenging them to reach their goals and potentials along their own fitness journey because fitness really is a personal journey.

I have taught mobility and HIIT classes in the past and I am super excited to be part of the Thrive community!

I have been attending Thrive since it first opened ...even after a year and half hiatus, I was welcomed back with positive and warm welcomes. I love this studio for its intimate community feel. The trainers get to know you as a person and it feels like working out with friends who care, ask and know about you as an individual. I do the SGT program twice a week and love the accountability the group holds for each other as well as the support and knowledge the trainers give.

Alison L.

I have been doing SGT at Thrive twice a week for over two years now and absolutely LOVE IT! Christine Hall has put together the perfect "gold standard" model. From the trainers, to the equipment and the facility as a whole, everything is amazing. They cater to you individually but you work as a team with the others. They know "our" strengths and weaknesses and know how to push us when and where required. There is no pressure, but they seem to bring the very best out of everyone. You want to work hard because the instructors work so hard for you. Every class is different so you never get bored. I can't say enough good things about Thrive and the people that work there

Kathy P.

The Small Group Training for Guys program has been awesome. I've been in it for almost a year now and look forward to it every week. I feel good, it's hard work made fun.
